About me
Welcome! My name is Michael Karas and this is my website. I hope you find something insightful or interesting during your time here. I currently hold an MSc in Chemistry that was completed in 2022 at the University of Guelph.
I have worked as Research Associate in a Drug Development Lab for a Biopharmaceutical named Resilience Biotechnologies. Afterwards I worked in Trail, BC as an Assay Technician testing Metallic Products produced at Teck.
Other than occupational, I have a passion for Computer Vision, Data Science, Web Development and develop time daily to work on fun projects (More details on these in the project section)
As well, I have a passion for Entrepreneurship, as of right now I have a 3D printing company selling items on Etsy.
Coding- I have a passion for Data, whether for Data Science, Engineering or Machine Learning/AI. I have enjoyed tackling problems such as building FullStack Applications to solve 3D Printing issues. As well as participated in Hackathons where I've built AI Applications to make Meals from ingredients that you have at home and reduce food waste
Creative- I own a 3D printing business, Karas3DPrints, where I utilize my 3D printer and design skills in blender to make things come to life! As well, I want to begin other creative passions such as roasting my own Coffee Beans and having a newsletter
Biotechnology- My previous occupation as a Downstream Research Associate introduced me to the world of Biotech and the potential positives effects it can have on society. With my knowledge in Computer Science, I want to work on achieving greater insights in Biotechnology and solve the toughest problems
